Former police commissioner of Mumbai, he belongs to the 1979 batch of the I.P.S. Apart from an illustrious career in the Police Force, he has been associated with various philanthropist activities and is an advisor with ADAPT and EKAM Foundation and closely associated with CPPA and other NGOs. After retirement, he has dedicated himself full time to helping and assisting cancer patients through Konark Cancer Foundation.
